January Gone

End of January, a generally ferocious month that acquiesced this year, it rolled over and opted out of winter. Sweet! Sunday, the last day of the month, 53 degrees and sunny!

Dry roads. Road bike style. The fifth ride of the year, of the month. Eleven months to go. Vivaldi's Four Seasons and we've squeaked through one month of the first.

  1. Dubstoevsky on the Bridge!!!! The lost Anglo-Crim-Wo masterpiece. You shadowy Veloist.

Can you swim at the pretty spot in the first picture?

I am / we are coming out of the chaos. Last week the movers packed our paltry household into 250 boxes and carried them and assorted objets-meubles as well as diverse artworks of deteriorating appeal over to our gorgeous new pad, leaving us buried under ourselves at about 7 pm on Friday. On Saturday the required renovation of the old apartment began. It's been harrowing, even with the help of many friends as well as that Marius a wonderful Polish tradesman. The apartment has about 1000 sq ft and a landlord from Mars. The good news is, it's almost over! Marius and I finished the ceilings this morning. Now if only the landlord would stop sending late-nite messages with demands and threats :-( Thanks god we're almost free of the bizarro neighbor.

    Ride on, ride on!!

Ja ja ja! (finally got to listen to a Lee Perry cimpalation CD that has been on the shelf here for ages - Fantastic! Will post)

  2. Hey man....glad to see you're putting in the miles. I'm back on the bike after a 5-week hiatus but should be in good shape for the raputitsa. On the fence about the weird winter weather but trying to make the most of it.

    1. Ah, Virginian! Good to hear from you, you rogue Shadman, and good to hear you're back on the bike. Except, not sure about your western environs but her in the Woo, on the anniversary of the Blizzard of '78, we're getting hammered with snow. That's going to set back my riding for the near future, I'm afraid.
