July 6 - 12: Hot Summer Days

The long gruel, a hot and pulsing summer week, hard rides on heated tarmac. Hard non-training off the bike, the growlers of beer, the meat wagon, the ice cream flagon, did I mention beer? champagne? the hubris of birth? the raucous carouse in baking July?

Still yet to notch a 50 mile ride, but this week managed two 45+ rides, hard ones too, culminating in Saturday's epic 3500 ft of climbing, a Wachusett summit, the furnace of mid-afternoon returning to the baking Woo. Allez!

Not to mention an airport climb, Bancroft Tower, and a cursory Sunday city meander. Not a bad week over all, 118 miles.

  1. Rub-a-dub-ster, hearing the baseline loud n' clean on your mighty ska, JA Rastaferrari, you're taking some of those curves not holding on I bet, lean into it Oh Dubstoyevski. That resevoir looks enticing. You get to jump in sometimes? Or is it "no swimming allowed" like up in Williamsburg on the way to Conway. What about streams and gorges, am thinking Chesterfield or Deerfield. Got anything like that in your Woo-ness World? For me there's a public pool in Schmitten right next to the route I was back riding on this week, big stainless steel construction. Word is that it is spring fed and ice cold. Will try to get the family out there on the next scorching weekend. Alone I'd have to ride out with a swim suit and towel in a backpack, that's a couple hours out and an hour return with damp stuff on my back. You could just strip and jump into Holden holden those gigantic cojones of yours, couldn't you? Meister M. and I were talking over a dash to Ventoux in September, a weekend thing, long drives down and back and in between a couple of magnificent rides - that was the idea. My recent performances have been good but not quite at the level I'd like to have for a ride up le Gigant der Provence. Have cancelled. Looking now at May 2016. I believe that I've got a chance to be ready by then. Alp d'Huez also, if God hears our prayers and is merciful. Allez! SCROD
